df3d invited to participate in EU project BIMODIMA

Shortly after the Inside 3D Printing Expo in Berlin, we were invited to participate in a European Union project on demand-driven digital manufacturing — coordinated by Copenhagen Business School.

Shortly after the Inside 3D Printing Expo in Berlin in March 2014, Frederik Lean Hansen and Jon Arbizu from the Copenhagen Business School contacted us to learn about what df3d was doing in the 3D printing space. After a few discussions and interviews, we were fascinated by what they were working on and eagerly expressed our interest in partnering with them.

We were invited to participate in the European Union project "BIMODIMA" concerning "Integrated Business Modelling for demand-driven digital manufacturing in Europe". The project is coordinated by Copenhagen Business School and consists of a pilot group of 14 partners from 6 different EU countries, representing different parts of the digital manufacturing value chain.

As the BIMODIMA project description states: "Digital Manufacturing and the interconnectivity that revolves around these technologies have the potential to revolutionize the European Manufacturing industry. Apart from sustainability and consumer value benefits, digital manufacturing such as 3D printing can enhance and democratize innovation while re-localizing production back to European countries."
